ABOUT ISABEL

 

Isabel Thottam is a freelance writer based in Seattle, WA.

Isabel's first paid writing gig was for a poem she published in Chicken Soup For The Teenage Soul at age 15. 

In 2013, Isabel graduated with a B.A. in Visual and Media Arts from Emerson College where she specialized in Writing For Film and Television with a minor in Entrepreneurial Studies. 

As both a writer and entrepreneur, Isabel is a motivated, self-starter that previously managed a charity organization in Boston called "Hold On Another Day" through which she produced compilation CDs, hosted benefit concerts, and obtained media coverage in The Boston Globe, MTV Act and Boston Metro. 

Isabel is also an AmeriCorps alumni and was recognized as a Newman Civiv Fellow for her commitment to community service while living in Boston.

Since graduating, Isabel has worked for two start-up companies. At Warby Parker, she worked as a customer service associate in New York City before relocating to Nashville to work as a customer service manager. Isabel most recently worked as a Content Manager and Editor at Moment Inc., in Seattle.

Isabel loves writing for a variety of different topics, including food, adventure travel, photography and technology, in addition to writing career advice for her peers. She can often be found tucked in a cafe working on her latest project or hiking in the mountains.
